Weight loss still needs a language that is not judgment
The vocabulary around weight has changed faster than the social rules for using it.

New weight-loss medicines have made an old conversation more visible, not less complicated. People can want better health, privacy or change while still living with the stigma and politics attached to body size.
That tension is not solved by declaring one attitude correct. Friends, families and workplaces often carry competing ideas about support, autonomy and what counts as a compliment or a judgment.
The useful public question is how to speak without turning someone else’s body into a debate. There is no single script, but there is a clear need for more care than the culture usually gives the subject.
