Novo Nordisk said prescription Ozempic and Wegovy pens would be sold through more than 500 Costco pharmacies in the United States. The announced four-week cash price for members with prescriptions was $499, putting a large retailer into the companies' direct-pay distribution strategy.

For households paying without insurance, the practical change was another place where the same advertised cash price could be encountered. That expands a retail channel, but it does not turn a listed price into a universal cost or settle whether a plan will cover the medicine.

The announced price and participating locations can change, and availability depends on a prescription and local pharmacy supply. This is a distribution development, not a statement about who should use a medicine or what any household will ultimately pay.
