A 2026 survey of 5,065 U.S
A new Gallup survey puts current use at 11% of US adults, up from 3% in 2024, while the national obesity rate slips from its 2022 peak.

A 2026 survey of 5,065 U.S. adults found that 11% reported current GLP-1 use for weight loss, compared with 3% in 2024. That change made the medicines a more visible part of daily consumer life in a short period.
The social shift still ran through access. A medicine can become widely discussed while its cost, coverage, and prescription requirements keep use uneven across households. Public visibility and practical availability are not the same thing.
The result is self-reported survey data. It does not prove that GLP-1 use caused a change in national obesity rates, predict an individual result, or settle the longer-term pattern of use.
