GLP-1 growth is becoming a global access story as well as a U.S. one

The boom is no longer just a US demand story; Lilly is building a global obesity-drug business.

The growth of GLP-1 medicines is no longer confined to the United States. A 2026 business report described Lilly expanding its obesity-drug presence in more markets as supply capacity increased and launches moved beyond its earliest markets.

That expansion can change where medicines are offered, but it does not create the same conditions everywhere. Prices, reimbursement rules, local approvals and supply all shape what access looks like in a particular country.

The business case concerns company sales and market reach, not a guide to treatment or a measure of affordability for any individual. U.S. availability and coverage remain separate questions.
